Meet the Pro

Robbie King

Robbie joined our team at The Carrick in 2011 and has been a fully qualified PGA Professional since 2015. He learned the game at Dumbarton Golf Club, where he reached his lowest playing handicap of +2. He’s also won the Dunbartonshire County Boys Strokeplay & Matchplay 2005, reached the GB&I finals of the Faldo Series and was joint winner in the Scottish Junior Tour event at Kilmarnock Barassie.

Robbie’s friendly approach ensures his pupils enjoy the process of learning to play golf. He brings energy and enthusiasm to improving everyone’s game – whether it’s in individual or group tuition sessions. Working alongside some of golf’s governing bodies, he’s also committed to growing the game in Scotland, in particular at junior level.

Robbie continually improves his own coaching skills through research and by attending coaching seminars delivered by some of golf’s leading experts. Using Trackman to provide direction and feedback, he follows a ‘one size doesn’t fit all’ approach to golf coaching, practice and tuition.

He strongly believes that every golfer is different, and his player-led approach provides a platform for golfers to learn through self-discovery and skills development. As well as helping you improve your game, he’ll also make sure you leave The Carrick with a smile on your face.
