Best Cycling Paths in Loch Lomond

The vast and varied landscape of The Trossachs National Park offers unrivalled cycling routes for all abilities and is the perfect activity to explore the rolling hills, off-road forest tracks and mountains that surround Loch Lomond.

There are gentle routes, taking you past tranquil beaches of Loch Lomond and through low-lying forests with spectacular views of the loch, its islands and iconic spots of the landscape such as Conic Hill and Ben Lomond – perfect for a family day out!

For more experienced cyclists with plenty of stamina, take to the hills and follow the rugged splendour of the stunning mountain landscape, with challenging climbs and fast descents, these aren’t routes for the faint hearted. But struggle on and the majestic views of the Scottish Highlands will provide a well-deserved reward.

For a cycle route that suits all abilities, from family with children to avid bikers, the West Loch Lomond Cycle Path is ideal. This flat path is a great way to start soaking up the stunning Loch Lomond scenery and its surrounding areas. Don’t worry, there will be a selection of bars and restaurants in Balloch to energise cyclists before setting off, as well as many places to choose from in Tarbet to enjoy some well-deserved food afterwards. So don’t forget to download the route card and print before your lodge break.
