Romantic Things to Do Around Loch Lomond
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs offers endless activities for couples looking to explore together. Whether you prefer peaceful walks, scenic cruises, or outdoor adventures, there’s something for every type of getaway.
Scenic Walks
Take in the beauty of the surrounding landscape with a lochside stroll or a woodland walk through nearby trails. Early mornings around Loch Lomond are especially peaceful, with mist rising across the water and incredible views in every direction.
If you’d prefer to get out and explore the wider area, our favourite walks around Loch Lomond include gentle trails and challenging mountain climbs.
Conic Hill offers panoramic views of Loch Lomond and its surrounding areas. It’s an accessible hike that’s suitable for most fitness levels, but it can get more challenging towards the top as you reach the peak. Ben Lomond is one of the harder munros to tackle, but it also offers some of the best views.
For a more relaxed day excursion, the Luss Village Paths offer a gentle and charming way to explore one of Scotland’s most picturesque conservation villages, while we’d highly recommend visiting Inchcailloch Island in springtime. The island is carpeted in bluebells, which creates a magical backdrop.

Loch Cruises
Seeing Loch Lomond from the water is one of the most memorable experiences you can share. From relaxing sightseeing cruises to sunset sailings, it’s the perfect way to slow down and take in the scenery.
If you’re looking to add a bit of sparkle to the experience, a champagne cruise is a wonderful way of taking in some of the loch’s islands, including Inchmurrin, and hidden coves only visible by boat. Each cruise lasts one hour and includes a decadent glass of bubbly, which can be enjoyed from the upper deck.

Explore Luss
The charming village of Luss is ideal for a romantic afternoon. Wander through its picturesque streets, browse local shops, and enjoy views across the loch before stopping for coffee or lunch.
With its stone cottages, waterfront views, and quiet atmosphere, it’s ideal for a relaxed afternoon together. One of the most photographed locations is Pier Road, a quaint, flower-lined street featuring beautifully preserved 19th-century slate cottages that lead to the iconic Luss Pier.
Outdoor Adventures
For couples who enjoy something more active, the area offers kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, cycling, and even jet ski experiences – all surrounded by the spectacular backdrop of Loch Lomond.
If you’re looking for a peaceful experience, try stand-up paddleboarding around the scenic inlets or share a kayak. For those seeking more thrilling adventures, a guided jet ski experience is one of the most exhilarating ways to see the loch, the shoreline and the surrounding hills.

Relax Together at the Spa
From hydro and thermal experiences to soothing treatments, for couples seeking some self-care time, spa experiences offer the perfect opportunity to switch off together and escape the pace of everyday life.
