Allan Reich, our Managing Director, recently embarked on a day of adventure and cycled 54 miles from Doune to Cameron Club at Cameron Lodges. You can read about his wonderful experience below:

“We had an excellent trip through the National Park and managed to take in 5 Lochs and some of Scotland’s wonderful and majestic scenery.

We started our day in Doune and headed to Callander before cycling along the side of Loch Venachar before meeting up with Loch Achray and then on to Loch Katrine where we cycled around the loch to Stronachlacher. We stopped for a bit of lunch in the Pier cafe where we were made very welcome and enjoyed an excellent lunch finished off with some homemade cakes – you can’t cycle without cakes! On we went to Inversnaid, passing Loch Arklet on our left, before heading down to Loch Lomond.

We had a short wait as we watched the water bus coming up the loch. It arrived on time to take us on the 30-minute journey to Tarbert on the opposite shores of Loch Lomond.  Loch Lomond Cruises run the service and we had a very enjoyable cruise back down the loch while enjoying a nice cup of coffee and a tea cake as we listened to the commentary from the captain before arriving in Tarbert, right on time. All in all, a great way to cross the Loch.

The final part of the trip was an easy cycle following the cycle path all the way down via Luss to Cameron Club where we were staying the night.

Probably one of the best and most scenic cycle trips I have done.”

What a delightful way to spend a day! Feeling inspired? Set off on your own cycling adventure across Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park before retiring for the night at Cameron Lodges, where you can enjoy top-class amenities, world-renowned facilities and a peaceful night’s sleep.

Please note the water bus operates on certain seasons only, so please ensure you plan your trip in advance to avoid disappointment. You can find out more about the water bus and its operating times on the Loch Lomond Cruises website.
