Must-Visit Waterfalls In Loch Lomond

Falls Of Falloch
Located along the river Falloch, the Falls of Falloch is a wonderful spot lined with mossy foliage – perfect for snapping photos or posing for a selfie. This spot is also a spectacular place for a picnic by the water on warmer days.
To reach this popular waterfall, park at the Falls of Falloch car park, 5km south of Crianlarich off the A82. From there it’s a short, easy walk to the falls with easy terrain and plenty of foliage and wildlife to admire on the way.

Sruth Bàn
Situated on the Cowal Way, in Lochgoilhead, the Sruth Bàn waterfall is one you’re going to want to visit. This waterfall is located near Corrow in Argyll & Bute.Translating to ‘the fair torrent’, it gets its name from the striking contrast of the dark rock against the white water of the falls. It has been described as a wonder of nature. The series of waterfalls flows down the wide rocky drop, and can be accessed through a small path beside the falls, by a footbridge or, for braver explorers, over the stepping stones in the river.

Falls Of Dochart
When the river is in spate, the Falls of Dochart are truly a magnificent sight to witness. Nestled amongst the large rock bed, the falls can be viewed from the picturesque village bridge in the small town of Killin, located at the western edge of Loch Tay. The quaint village is not one to miss in the summertime when the rapids are at their peak.
Getting To Falls Of Dochart:
From Glasgow, there are two routes to get to Killin. Follow the A82 north from Loch Lomond, to Crianlarich, then switch to the A85 in the direction of Killin. However, a slightly shorter route is by following the M80 out of Glasgow and switching to the A84 at Stirling, then following signs for Callander and eventually Killin.
From Edinburgh, take the M9 route to Stirling and switch there to the A84, then following signs for Callander and Killin.
Falls Of Edinample
These roaring rapids set against the dark, ragged rock face are a splendid sight to behold. Located in the town of Craggan near Stirling, the falls have a lovely pool at the bottom.
You can find the falls near the Edinample Lodge in the village. By car, this waterfall is around 44 miles, or 1 hr 5 minutes, from Cameron House down the A811, A81 and the A84.
Falls Of Leny
You can find the Falls of Leny in the Pass of Leny, located in the village of Kilmahog in the west of Callander. These spectacular falls are ideal for visiting as they are included as part of the 4.75 mile long Callander to Falls of Leny walking circuit. Make a day of it and explore the local area through the forest trails and make a pit stop at the falls to admire the rapids or capture some beautiful photographs.
The walk typically takes 2-3 hours and is an easy walk through woodland paths – you can even cycle to the falls on this trail. The starting point for your walk is Callander’s town centre, which you can get to via the A811 and the A81 in just a 49 minute drive from Cameron House.

Bracklinn Falls
Bracklinn Falls can also be found in the popular town of Callander, so you can check two off your list with a one day trip – perfect for those hoping to visit all the local waterfalls on their countryside escape. Please note, the west side of the falls are not accessible since the Bracklinn Bridge was closed but there are plenty of great viewpoints to make your walk worthwhile.
You can walk to the falls up a hill from the town centre or you can park nearby in a carpark and make the walk through the woodland path to reach it, where you can admire the foaming water as it cascades in hues of white and blue down the coal-like rocks and into the water below. If you choose to use the car park, your walk will be under a mile. If you choose to do the Callander circuit, your walk will be more challenging at around 2 hours, but there is plenty of Scottish wildlife and forestry to admire as you go.
Inversnaid Waterfall
“This darksome burn, horseback brown,
His rollrock highroad roaring down,
In coop and in comb the fleece of his foam
Flutes and low to the lake falls home.”
Visit the historic waterfall that inspired the Inversnaid poem by 18th century poet Gerald Manley Hopkins. The waterfalls can be admired on the Arkley walking trail. The trail is waymarked and is a short but steep walk by the gorge from the Inversnaid pier and hotel. The walk is 1.5 miles and should take around 2 hours. The path can get a little muddy so make sure you have the right footwear to avoid any issues.
Situated along the banks of Loch Lomond, Inversnaid waterfall is around a 1 hour drive from Cameron House north along the A811 and the B829.
